L&rsquo;Ajoie offre une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de pistes cyclables qui conviennent aussi bien aux cyclistes exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s qu&rsquo;aux d\u00e9butants. Vous pouvez rouler le long des rivi\u00e8res et \u00e0 travers des paysages pittoresques, tout en profitant de l&rsquo;air frais et du calme de la nature. Il existe \u00e9galement quelques parcours plus escarp\u00e9s qui constituent un d\u00e9fi pour ceux qui aiment repousser leurs limites. Dans l&rsquo;ensemble, le v\u00e9lo en Ajoie est une excellente fa\u00e7on de d\u00e9couvrir la r\u00e9gion de mani\u00e8re \u00e9cologique et active.    <\/p>\n<p>Le chef-lieu de l&rsquo;Ajoie est Porrentruy, la deuxi\u00e8me ville du canton du Jura. L&rsquo;Ajoie s&rsquo;\u00e9tend sur une superficie d&rsquo;environ 300 km\u00b2, \u00e0 une altitude comprise entre 400 et 600 m. Elle se caract\u00e9rise par un paysage de type tabulaire jurassique, drain\u00e9 en majorit\u00e9 par l&rsquo;Allaine vers le Doubs. Cette vaste \u00e9tendue fertile aux sols calcaires est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme le verger du Jura et produit les prunes rampantes de la fameuse eau-de-vie de Damassine. L&rsquo;Ajoie offre diverses possibilit\u00e9s d&rsquo;excursions, comme les Grottes de R\u00e9cl\u00e8re, des traces de dinosaures, un parc pr\u00e9historique, le petit a\u00e9rodrome de Bressaucourt, des pistes cyclables et de magnifiques sentiers \u00e9questres.    <\/p>\n<p>Politiquement, l&rsquo;Ajoie se compose presque exclusivement du district de class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Histoire<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;<em>Ajoie<\/em> est mentionn\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans un document datant de 732, lorsque le duc d&rsquo;Alsace c\u00e8de des terres <em>in pago Alsegaugensi<\/em> \u00e0 l&rsquo;abbaye de Murbach. La souverainet\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;Ajoie changea ensuite \u00e0 plusieurs reprises, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce qu&rsquo;elle tombe sous le pouvoir s\u00e9culier du prince-\u00e9v\u00eaque de B\u00e2le en 999. Sur le plan eccl\u00e9siastique, seule La Baroche appartient \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00each\u00e9 de B\u00e2le jusqu&rsquo;en 1779, tandis que le reste de l&rsquo;Ajoie est rattach\u00e9 au dioc\u00e8se de Besan\u00e7on. La principaut\u00e9 \u00e9piscopale ayant connu des difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res au XIVe si\u00e8cle, la quasi-totalit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Ajoie fut vendue en 1386 aux comtes de W\u00fcrttemberg-M\u00f6mpelgard (Montb\u00e9liard), mais rachet\u00e9e en 1461 par le prince-\u00e9v\u00eaque Jean V de Venningen.
